The City of Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced and energetic leader to manage the operation of Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site (RLRHS). This 230-acre living history site engages, inspires, and educates guests about the cultural and agricultural history of those who inhabited the Pikes Peak region from 1775-1909. RLRHS is home to six interpretive areas, an American Indian area focused on the region’s indigenous cultures from 1775-1835, an 1860s homestead cabin, the 1874 Rock Ledge House, an 1880s homestead garden, an 1890s blacksmith shop, a 1907 Edwardian Country Estate. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Rock Ledge Ranch provides seasonal living history programs, school programs, special events, and other activities. RLRHS is beautifully situated at near the entrance to Garden of the Gods Park, a National Natural Landmark that receives over 4 million visitors annually. Both RLRHS and Garden of the Gods Park are managed by the Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department. RLRHS currently employs 5.5 FTEs, several seasonal positions, and a large volunteer corps.
