Purpose:

The Collections, Preservation and Registration (CPR) Professional Interest Group is made up of those ALHFAM members who are responsible for the care and preservation of museum collections or who advise museums and historical societies on collections and preservation issues.

Chair:

2020 Helping Hands Project

Almost every year, beginning in 2012, the CPR PIG has performed a volunteer project for a museum or historic site near the annual meeting location. This project is always collections-related: we've cataloged and numbered museum objects, rehoused textiles, organized storage areas, and inventoried exhibition buildings.

The 2020 Helping Hands project will be at the Newton (Mass.) Historical Society. There is no charge, and transportation and lunch will be provided.

If you wish to be part of the project, you must register for it when you register for the conference. We hope you'll participate and look forward to seeing you in June 2020!
