Join us at Kilts Farm on August 17, 2024 to learn about window restoration and repair from Kurt Riegel. This one-day course is designed to help everyone in repairs to historic windows.

If you have historic windows in your home, you might want some professional guidance on their repairs. Here it is! Kurt Riegel from Riegel Restoration explains the benefits of historic window rehabilitation. Kurt dispels common energy myths about older windows and highlights project examples.

Students will gain hands-on experience in repairing wood windows. Learn the basics of repairing, restoring, and preserving wood windows with window restoration specialist, Kurt Riegel. Participants will practice window repair techniques and learn about proper maintenance for extending the life of historic windows. Techniques covered in this workshop include properly removing wood sashes, repairing, and replacing deteriorated sash pieces, using epoxy, paint stripping and sanding, glazing, and painting. Participants will have a better understanding of basic window parts, how they properly function, how to best maintain them to prevent decay, and how to make them more energy efficient. Class size: 15 

Cost per student: $125 (covers materials) ($115 for Kilts Farm Members)
Lunch and Snacks will be provided by Kilts Farm.
