Fowl Butchering 101 Workshop at Sauder Village

Location: Sauder Village 22611 St Rt 2 Archbold, OH  43502
Date: Saturday, October 13, 2018
Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM or once butchering has been completed.

Instructor: Gail Richardson, Historic Foodways Supervisor

This hands-on class will teach students historic techniques in fowl butchering. Each participant will be able to have a hand in the process of preparing fowl for the table, learning how to humanely dispatch fowl, pluck feathers using a scalding kettle, neatly eviscerate a fowl carcass, and prepare the meat for the freezer.
