Where We've Been and Where We're Going

The 2016 Mid-Atlantic ALHFAM Conference will be held April 1-3 2016. Hosted by Historic St. Mary's City (HSMC)

Historic St. Mary’s City (HSMC) will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of its establishment in 2016 and we would like you all to be a part of it. To help celebrate, let’s look back at how living history developed over the last fifty years and consider where we think our field is going.

Historic St. Mary’s City is located on 800 acres of the most beautiful landscape in the Mid-Atlantic, atop one of the best preserved English colonial archaeological sites in North America.

HSMC has been recognized as a National Historic Landmark since 1969 and is one of Southern Maryland’s leading tourism attractions. Our museum of living history and archaeology commemorates the fourth permanent English settlement in North America and Maryland’s first capital.
