Year-round; Compensation: $24,000 annually ($25/hour); Full-time potential.
Qualifications: Motivated, outgoing, career-minded staff person with woodworking experience, and a passion for history and historical hand tools and techniques. Some teaching, acting, or (ideally) first person interpretive experience or interest, is desired. Your attention to detail and ability to work either independently or with others will be especially appreciated.
Duties will include:
Timber framing / wattle & daub construction
Using and making historical hand tools
Making period furnishings (tables, benches, beds, etc.)
Conventional construction occasionally
Building and site repairs
Site maintenance (windfall, leaves, fencing, etc.)
Woodworking demonstrations for visitors
Educational first-person role playing
Can include blacksmithing (depending on your interest)
We can train you and provide tools and equipment.
Vehicle required (we are not on a bus line).
