Helping Hands Project at the 2017 Annual Meeting:
Almost every year, beginning in 2012, the CPR PIG has performed a volunteer project for a museum or historic site near the annual meeting location. This project is always collections-related: we've cataloged and numbered museum objects; rehoused textiles; organized storage areas; and inventoried exhibition buildings.
This year's Helping Hands project will be at the LeRoy Historical Society, about 45 minutes from Rochester (the headquarters of this year's meeting), and also home of the Jell-O Museum. We'll help catalogue the tools in the boot of their 1908 Cadillac; organize, describe and clean a small (4) collection of walking plows; and clean 7 horse-drawn vehicles on exhibit. Lunch is provided, with Jell-O for dessert. There is no charge, and transportation to LeRoy will be provided.
I look forward to seeing you in June!
