    Volunteer Coordinator

    Historic Wagner Farm

    (Part time, Year-Round position)

    SUMMARY:

    Supports facility operations through recruiting, recordkeeping and coordination of volunteers. Works to find appropriate and meaningful volunteer opportunities that benefit both Wagner Farm and the volunteer.

    JOB DUTIES TO INCLUDE:

    • ·       Recruits volunteers for programs, horticulture, animal care, restoration, special events and other areas of operation as requested by staff.
    • ·       Recruits volunteers and supports special volunteer projects such as the Wagner Teamster program, etc.
    • ·       Develops and coordinates projects for local businesses, schools, community service groups, churches, scout troops, and business organizations as requested.
    • ·       Develops and conducts new volunteer orientation, interpretive material and general training.
    • ·       Leads and participates with volunteers in the work they are performing.
    • ·       Schedules volunteers and assigns tasks for regular farm work and events
    • ·       Assists in matching volunteers with appropriate areas of interest.
    • ·       Assists in designing promotional pieces on volunteer opportunities.
    • ·       Assists in the development and implementation of volunteer recognition and professional development programs.
    • ·       Develops and initiates regular communication with volunteers, both individuals and groups through email, social media and other means.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    The best applicants will have:

    High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree strongly preferred. Prior experience coordinating a volunteer labor force desirable. Experience working at a non-profit or community based organization preferred. Licenses: Valid IL Driver’s License required with the ability to qualify to drive Glenview Park District vehicles. Ability to perform medium duty work.

    HOURS & PAY

    This is a year-round position working a varied part-time schedule. Schedule will include week days, evenings, and weekends as required. Number of hours / week will vary based on season and business need. Pay $10-$14/hour (dependent on qualifications).
